Young Scientist 2023

Well done to the following students who have had projects accepted for the BT Young Scientist and Technology exhibition in the RDS in January 2023:

Joe Molloy, 2A: ‘Creating New AI Proof Captchas’ – The project will develop new captchas to protect websites from AI that are easier to understand for humans yet even more secure from artificial intelligence.

Eoin O’Herlihy, 2A and Oscar Malone, 2C: ‘A Sustainable Method Of Storing Wind Energy For Days When Wind Is Not Available’ - This project will develop a sustainable method of storing excess wind energy for days with no wind using a hydro-electric battery.

Hugo Reddy, 2C and Ciaran Bowen, 2C: ‘Creating a Portable Gadget that Generates Renewable Electricity’ – This project aims to create green energy from basic occurrences in daily life.

Hard luck to Christian Barton-Randall, Niall Morahan, Harry Stuart and MacDara Hickey whose projects were not accepted this year. Many thanks to them for having been great mentors to the junior students in their projects. Thanks to Mr McGroggan for all his help and support to all the entrants.
