Green Schools News

Last week for Climate Action Week we carried out a survey to see how our students usually travel to school. We were very pleased that 82% of students use either active or public transport to get to school.

On Tuesday of this week we attended a screening of I Am Greta , a documentary about Greta Thunberg, in the Lighthouse Cinema, followed by a talk by climate activist Ceara Carney. Thank you very much to the Environmental Education Unit in An Taisce for organising this inspiring event.

Green Schools meetings take place on Fridays at 8am in the Library and everyone is welcome to attend. Our next activity as part of our work on the theme of Global Citizenship: Marine Environment will a beach or river clean. If you would be interested in taking part, talk to Ms McNamara in the Library.
